Brigadier Jerry emerged in the late 1970’s as one of the most popular cultural DJ’s to regularly improvise over the Jamaican sound systems. Highly respected as a conscious DJ, Briggy was called the teacher. He taught Rasta culture to the people. Despite early dancehall's taste for slackness, Jerry's subject matter was spiritual and cultural, though he did have a sense of humor. His chanting over the mic was a form of preaching musical sermons. While with Jah Love, bootleg cassette recordings of his live performances began to circulate among DJ aficionados and reggae lovers worldwide resulting in packed houses wherever he played. Briggy developed a strong underground reputation with his talented melodic toasting style. Dancehall Star Konshens In Demand
New York, New York   Dancehall Superstar Konshens is definitely one of dancehall most sought after acts and his schedule & show turn outs are clear reasons why.    On July 28th, Konshens departed Jamaica to Freeport Bahamas, where he headlined two sold out shows. Immediately after his performances he jetted to New York where he co-headlined a free concert in Brooklyn. The concert is a part of the Martin Luther Kings Summer Concert series held annually & produced by VP Records.  Also performing on this concert was reggae songstress Etana,.   Performing with a band, Konshens connected immediately with the at-capacity crowd, but it was seven words, that caused the audience to erupt. The demand for his presence on major festivals is showing the young artist that he has a strong future ahead, yet, a huge responsibility to spread the culture across the globe.   Over this past weekend, Jahmiel performed on the mainstage at one of the oldest Reggae festivals in Europe, Reggae Geel. On this years staging of Reggae Geel, (main stage line -up) two day performances were, Beres Hammond, Tarrus Riley, Konshens, Kabaka Pyramid, Wayne Wonder, Junior Reid, Daweh Congo, Dexta Daps, just to name a few.
