Congresswoman Maxine Waters is a national treasure, capturing the hearts of the social media generation with her digs at President Donald Trump and ousted Fox News host Bill O’Reilly . Affirmative action , a set of policies that came into view under the presidency of John F. Kennedy, in recent times has come under attack by opponents of the practice who call it a form of reverse racism. While the related policies were enacted to provide a fair opportunity to all, the Justice Department is gathering itself to launch a lawsuit based on how colleges admit students due to race. The New York Times obtained a document showing that Justice Department officials are shifting office resources to take aim at universities over their affirmative action policy in order to determine if they withheld white students from enjoying the same admission opportunity. The Times writes : The document, an internal announcement to the civil rights division, seeks current lawyers interested in working for a new project on “investigations and possible litigation related to intentional race-based discrimination in college and university admissions.” The announcement...

The rift between Jay-Z and Kanye West has been growing for years, with the latter blasting Hova from the stage, and the former returning fire on his new album, 4:44. A documentary about their feud is airing on Monday, July 31, across the pond.  Titled Public Enemies: Jay-Z vs. Kanye, the doc is being touted as “revealing the story behind Jay-Z and Kanye West’s spectacular rise, their creative partnership and their colossal falling out” via  “unseen footage and exclusive interviews.” Some of those interviews are with DJ Clark Kent and Just Blaze. Kanye West made headlines last year with the cancellation of his Saint Pablo tour and entering a California treatment center for an alleged number of health-related reasons. The Chicago superstar has filed a lawsuit against insurance specialists Lloyd’s of London for not covering West’s lost expenses, with the company placing the blame on the rapper over his marijuana use. TMZ reports : According to docs, Very Good Touring filed a claim with Lloyd’s back in November. The North Carolina star and members of his Dreamville team made a recent visit to San Quentin State Prison in California to visit with inmates who will never see the other side of the wall again.
